At Pure will give you the most honest, in-depth and relevant information so you can choose the best hair extensions for your hair type style, texture and lifestyle.

We love to keep you up to date with the latest hair extension trends, colours and styles and provide you with the insider professional tips and tricks on the advantages and disadvantages of each method.  We provide you with the easy solutions to combat any issues, relating to each method to keep your hair extensions looking and feeling their best.

Premium quality Hair extensions are a high end beauty item because of course they are made from natural human hair which can take years to grown.  It is then carefully cut, coloured and created into the particular hair extensions method.

it is important to do your research prior to purchasing as hair extensions can cost from a couple of hundred to even thousands of dollars depending where you buy from.  With the introduction of Afterpay and ZipPay pay later systems, hair extensions have become far more accessible to the wider public so instead of having to pay a lump sum, you can pay your gorgeous new hair off in interest free instalments.

Whether you are a first-timer or a seasoned pro, sorting through the endless amount of hair extension advise can be time-consuming and downright confusing! One thing for certain is, buying cheap hair extensions is not a good idea because "cheap hair extensions" still cost a decent amount of money and then will last for a very short time which does not end up cheaper in the long run.  For this reason, it is best to invest in the best quality hair extensions you can afford so you can get more value in the long term, and your hair will look its best.

Sometimes much of the so called "knowledge" out there is more geared toward marketing their own method of attachment or the types of hair they sell rather than truely helping you make an informed decision regarding the best type of hair extensions to suit your hair length, texture, colour, style and your lifestyle.

At Pure Tape Hair Extensions we are passionate about almost all types of hair extensions and sell every safe and reliable method of attachment.

One must also be sure that no matter what the attachment method is, the hair extensions are Remy, which means the cuticles run in the same direction.  This is absolutely crucial and we explain this in detail on our website under the "about our hair page".

While of course although we love Tape-in's because they are the world's leading and most loved method of attachment (as you may have guessed by our name) we also sell a comprehensive range of almost all systems available today in wide range of colours and lengths.  We have in-depth knowledge and understanding of the in's and out's" and the pro's and con's of each method we sell and even of those we don't.

In this article you will find the most accurate and definitive information to assist you with your hair extension choice.

At Pure only provide you with the most reliable and popular systems of attachment so lesser known, unreliable or damaging attachment methods have not been included.

When choosing one particular method over another, one must keep in mind that everyone's hair and lifestyle is different so one type of extension may be more suited or desired from one wearer to the next.

Let's take a deeper look at the different methods, their unique characteristics and the reasons they may be best suited to your individual hair, lifestyle and particular look.

Tape-In Hair Extensions:

The Best Way To Use Tape-In Hair Extensions

THE PROS:

Due to the super quick, safe and easy application tape in hair extensions have quickly become the all time favourite world-wide amongst stylists and personal wearers alike. In-fact up to 80% of the worlds hair extension wearers choose tape-in seamless hair extensions such as Pure Tape Hair Extensions over any other method.

There are no lumps, bumps or indentations where beads, bonds or wefts any other type of method might be easily felt when touching or stroking ones head or of which can be slightly noticeable in very smooth so is one of the best types of hair extensions for fine hair.

Tape-in hair extensions have a long and positive history, and were some of the very first extensions used in the film and music industry due to the natural appearance and ease of application and removal, they are the most popular go-to hair extension option for movies, TV and music videos.

The safest method of hair extensions available as the weight of the small tape panels is distributed evenly over a larger area causing no damage to the client’s hair.

Super quick and easy to apply:

In 30 - 60 you can have longer, thicker hair which can be easily removed and re-applied once they have grown out.

Application of high quality tape-ins such as Pure Tape Hair Extensions does not require any heat, adhesive, or tools, which means you will not have to worry about damage when applied correctly or the extra time associated with additional heat etc.

A more natural appearance:

A full "fanned out" natural appearance which bends in easily with your own hair instead of a more "piecey" or separated effect which is common with strand by strand methods meaning less extensions may need to be applied to get a natural effect than keratin bond / micro-bead or nano method.

Reliability:

Tape-ins are super reliable and withstand most daily and even extreme lifestyles. When applied correctly high quality tape-ins are hassle-free because they won't slip, fall or easily tangle.  Once applied most people find the maintenance is easy and they stay in place and feel like your own hair until ready to removed or replaced.

Ideal For Short Hair:

Tape in's are the only extensions that can sit flat enough and are designed small enough to be applied to where they are needed with the most versatility.  This allows easy placement where they are needed to build up a long luscious effect in even very short hair.

While wefts also sit flat they do not allow as much flexibility in placement due to the longer pieces.

Can Swim and Shower:

Due to some mis-guided information, some people have been led to believe tape-ins are not suitable for swimming in.  This is un-true as with proper application and good quality tape-in hair extensions, they can withstand a long time being exposed to swimming and even snorkling, since the tapes once "sandwiched" between the clients hair creates a water tight hold they wont slip unless pulled or exposed to hours submerged.

Re-useable:

High quality tape-in's are reusable and the hair can be worn for about to 6-8 weeks per application cycle.  At Pure Tape Hair Extensions our bonds are made with a special high quality PU Strip which does not break-down, stretch or shed like cheaper bonds, meaning they can be easily re-used.

Ability to achieve a thicker more luxurious effect:

With method can achieve a thicker more glamorous effect more easily by being able to section clean strips of hair and closely pack the extensions in, to create a thicker look. This can we more difficult with other methods due to time, cost restraints and the way the hair is sectioned.

Great If You Have Thick Hair:

Tape-ins are also perfect if your own hair is thick and you need to "build up" enough volume to balance out your own hair to that of the extensions.  This can be done a lot more effectively and quickly with tape-ins.

Generally more affordable:

The cost associate with hair extensions can be broken into two components being the cost of the hair itself and the application maintenance costs. Generally speaking the faster application and maintenance means you are paying for less hours of service.

Colour versatility & Manipulation:

With the ability to be able to sand-which different shades back to back, the colour combinations are almost endless.

This is a key component which makes tape-ins so versatile and flexible in creating colour and blending options unseen in any other extensions method.

Often it can be a little difficult to be sure the colour you are choosing will be best for your client especially if you have not seen them or will be doing some changes or touch ups to their hair.  For this reason choosing the versatility of tape-ins can alleviate much of the stress of choosing the perfect shade in that two close shades can be sandwiched together to create the desired look, and if the hair is lighter the lightest ones can be placed on top for a lighter over all appearance and the darker underneath or vice versa.

Highlights / Lowlights:

With the Pure Tapes Hair Extensions extensive colour selection including, ombre and highlight / lowlight foiled effects, you can achieve professional foils, highlights and lowlights without any effort.  Our super blended and beautiful foiled extensions makes achieving a high end look effortless and hassle free.

Most Comfortable Method:

The general consensus among most women is that tape-in method is the most comfortable method on the market today.  This is a fairly important component one should be considerate of, seeing the extensions will stay in your hair (often for years) especially if you love long hair and literally are extensions free only while the replacement process is taking place after natural grow out.

Versatility of styling:

When applied correctly, and hidden within the hair line correctly, you can easily put your hair up in any type of up-style, ponytail or bun just like your would with your own hair.

Smooth natural result by sitting flat against your head:

Unlike strand by strand methods that feel bumpy in the hair our luxury tape-in hair extensions sit completely flat against your head resulting in an undetectable result both visually and to the touch.

More and more women are concerned about the overall feel of their head and hair and not only the aesthetics in the pursuit of a truely natural effect. For example if your your significant other touches your head and it feels smooth and natural this is far nicer than feeling hard beads or keratin bonds.

THE CONS:

Generally far and few between but there are still a few pointers to take note of:

Not as suitable for curly or wavy hair:

Most tape-ins are straight so the clients own hair will need to be constantly straightened to blend into the extensions.  This can at times be challenging because if the hair is very curly it might be tricky to straighten it while being incorporated into the extensions.

Unfortunately it can be difficult to find the right curl to suit you, so at Pure tape hair extensions we can custom make the curl especially to your own hair.

Easy Solution:

Curly or wavy tape-ins can be worn so if you don't want to continuously straighten your own hair, you can easily leave your hair in a natural wavy style.

The visibility of the bond:

This only occurs because the extensions pieces are larger and if they are not applied carefully to avoid the hair lines and crown eg at the bottom of your hair near your neck, sides and top of your head then they may show more quickly when growing out.

Easy Solution:

Apply the extensions within the base section of the hair and not too low, too far at the outer corners or too high on the head.

Tape is tacky and gluey:

Some companies tape can be very tacky, sticky and messy during reapplication.

Easy solution: Use high quality tape and remover solvent. At pure out tape is the highest quality available and comes out cleanly and effortlessly.  Our solvent is hypo allergenic and will not damage your tapes and is non-irritating.

The bonds look "stark" against your roots:

If the bonds of your hair seem to stand out in your hair, it is probably because like 80% of girls these days, your roots are darker than your mid-lengths to ends.  This is due to the dark root trend that never ended because.... let"s just face it, dark roots generally look better than than hair running from the roots at the same shade.  The "rooted", root fade, root stretch, short root ombre, short root balayage etc.

Easy Solution:

At Pure we make the solution easy by providing a great selection of short root stretch extensions by the name of short root stretch / ombre balayage hair extensions which means the PU strip at the top of the extensions is darker which extends down 2-3" to perfectly blend and provide that gorgeous deeper root that most girls love.

If you are trying to conceal a light extension against a darker root you can either move the extension into the base section of your hair where there is more coverage or you can even help hide the bonds by using a permanent marker pen over the tapes (normally you will only need to do this to the very top, sides and bottom rows). The marker will slowly fade so touch it up when needed. This is a great way to darker up those tape strips that stand out a little too much.

CLIP IN' HAIR EXTENSIONS:

The Pros and cons Of Clip-In Hair Extensions

Most girls have a trusty set of clip-in hair extensions these days since they provide a full transformation in only a few minutes, and best of all you can do it yourself without any special skills or help from anyone else.

THE PRO'S

These are a great option for those who are not ready to commit to wearing extensions on a daily basis, and while some girls do apply them every day as part of their daily routine, this might become tedious in the long term.

Clip-in hair extensions are a fantastic quick fix from short to long hair when you feel like it, or a great way to keep your long stye, in-between your permanent (semi-permanent) extensions.

At Pure our clip in hair extensions are thicker than most, being a whopping 200 grams, with 10 pieces in total you can create a fuller thicker look with the best quality hair on the market.  They are great value and versatile in-that you can apply as many or as few as you wish, depending on the effect you are wanting.

If you’re looking for a quick and easy, zero salon maintenance hair enhancer, clip-in hair extensions are the perfect option. As opposed to all other methods of semi permanent methods which require your stylist to apply, clip in’s can be put in  completely by yourself.

THE CONS:

Cannot Swim:

Clip in hair extensions are a temporary hair extension method, which should not be  used while swimming so if you want to look cute at the beach but also go swimming or surfing they are not ideal.

Cannot leave them in overnight:

You should not sleep with your clip-ins in place as they will be both uncomfortable and my damage your hair.

Can become damaging if used daily:

When the clips are applied to the same place repetitively for extended periods of time. it can lead to sensitivity and hair loss.

Easy Solution:

Practice applying the clips in a slightly different position each week.

Daily commitment can be time consuming:

Clip in hair extensions are in fact exactly the same as a weft which has been cut to fit and had clips applied.  They are secured in the hair by clipping in the small pressure sensitive clips.

Clip-ins might not last very long:

Because the hair used to make this method of attachment utilizes a lower grade than that of permanent extensions, unless combined with intensive care and maintenance, the hair only lasts for a few months in general.

Easy Solution:

At Pure tape hair extensions we use the same hair for our clip-in hair as we do for our permanent extensions.  This ensures you have amazing hair for longer than from most companies who use mixed and lower quality.

Clip-ins can be washed less frequently or only washed at the very tops (to remove any oil build up created by your own hair).  This will help to extend the life of the extensions.

Less curling and straightening will always keep the hair healthier.

WEFT / WEAVE HAIR EXTENSIONS:

The Pro's and Con's Of Weft / Weave-In Hair Extensions

A weft or weave is a curtain of hair that has been sewn at the top of hair extension to bind the hair together and is then connected in rows throughout the head, generally via, beads or sewn along a small horizontal braid created in the clients hair.

A weft creates a natural effect because the hair is applied as curtain of hair instead of single strand pieces so the effect never looks "stringy" or separated.

A weft or weave is a great option for very curly or frizzy hair because the clients own hair can be effectively braided around the clients head and completely replaced by the weft hair.  Other methods will not work as effectively on very curly or frizzy hair because the clients own hair will still be visible and of a different texture unless it is straightened continuously to blend in with the extensions.

At Pure we sell both hand tied for an extremely flat result and also machine made wefts.

Our most popular being machine made wefts are carefully crafted with the best quality stitching techniques to ensure they do not shed or unravel.  They are very durable, lie flat and extremely natural looking when applied correctly.

Designed to be customised to size, simply measure the section you would like to take and cut using scissors. Hair Extensions can be applied using Micro Beads, Copper Beads, Shrinkies or Sewn in, or can be used in salon or as a fantastic tool for photoshoots.

THE PRO'S

A Thick Luscious Effect Can Easily Be Achieved:

Wefts can be folded over to make them thicker which is great if you, yourself have thick dense hair and need an extra thick result.

If you want thick hair you can apply the rows closely together to create the desired density.

Re-useable:

They are designed to be re-used once they have grown out so are great value, unlike for example keratin bonds that generally cannot easily be used again.

You can buy them in multiple shades and apply the rows accordingly to adjust and change the shade. This is especially good if you wish to create subtle highlights and lowlights (2 different weft shades can be applied together) or in separate rows  to change up your look.  This is also particularly helpful if you have a unique colour idea in mind or have a difficult to match shade.

THE CON'S

Can feel Too Tight Or Saggy:

It takes quite some skill to create a braid which is tight enough that does not cause pre-mature loosening but not too tight as this can put strain on your scalp and cause scabbing or hair loss.

Wefts can be folded over to make them thicker which is great if you want thick hair but If the weft is too heavy, it can pull your hair causing tension alopecia (tension hair loss).

Easy Solution:

Ensure the stylist understands your hair health and density of your hair so the braid is created to suit your hair.

It can look and feel bulky:

Some wefts are made poorly so are far thicker at the wefted end.

Easy Solution:

Ensure the weft is folded only as many times as to accommodate the strength, density and volume of your own hair and ensure your stylist applies them at the right position to conceal the rows.

High quality wefts /weaves are made by high end technicians, who have the skill to create a certain calibre of product that out performs lower grades of extensions. They may cost more but are ultimately worth it in the long run and you will find the hair will also be better quality.

Styling May be More Difficult:

Due to the nature of the particular method the presence of the cornrows need to be hidden so thus limits your styling options. They can also be more bulky while up-styling (being one long row) however a little playing around and you will begin to accommodate your styling techniques to suit the weft.

Easy Solution:

If you find styling your hair more difficult with wefts then it may be best to use beads, bonds or tape in method as the hair can be more easily separated to accomodate more depth styles but generally wefts can still be put up into a bun or ponytail.

Hair can get oily:

Wefts are a thick row of hair and because your head does not "breath" as easily it can get oily faster and requires more thorough washing.

Easy Solution:

The best way to do this is to separate and lift each row and apply shampoo both underneath and on top of the row then gently scrub (without knotting your hair) and wash out. This is very important because bacteria can build up which is unhygienic and may lead to smelly hair.

Not recommended for people with short hair :

If your hair is too short a cornrow may not be possible which is the anchor holding your weft in place.

Easy solution:

Even shorter hair can have a weft applied with beads instead as the bead can be placed right at the roots.

Not recommended for people with fine hair:

Tension alopecia is caused by very tight pulling on your hair.  It can be permanent and people with fine hair tend to be more susceptible to it.

Easy Solution:

Try a hand tied weft which is super fine and light, or choose with tape-ins which place no tension on your hair unless pulled tight or applied incorrectly.

Apply the weft into the middle section of the hair at the back where there is greater density.

MICRO-BEAD HAIR EXTENSIONS:

The pro's and cons of micro-bead hair extensions

Micro Bead Hair Extensions, also known as i-tip method, are one of the original hair extensions methods and still one of the most popular.

This method should be applied by a professional with excellent ability and technique in applying micro-beads to ensure a natural and damage free result.
This is one of the longer application methods which takes around 2.5-3 hours on average per full head and requires precision and patience.
A small metal non-slip bead is threaded on to a section of the hair and a strand of hair is clamped to the bead, securing the extension in place.
THE PRO'S
They can be effectively up-styled or pulled into a pony tail, as they can rotate 180° from point of placement so they are great for those who like to exercise a lot so wear their hair up often.
Can be re-used.
Can swim with them in place.
Small colour matched beads camouflage well into the hair, even after some grow out.
THE CON'S
Can be damaging:
Reputable companies use copper cylinders lined with silicone to protect your natural hair from breakage.
Ensure you always have a qualified professional apply your extensions
Can be uncomfortable some wearers complain of a headache for up to several days or up to 2 weeks after application. You may also experience discomfort or an itchy scalp within the first couple of weeks after application.
Easy Solution:
Being hard beads this can be uncomfortable for people with a sensitive scalp.
Ensuring a qualified professional applies your extensions will reduce the risk of application issues.
Can look fake:
The nature of the hair pieces being small strands means they separate more and may have a "spaghetti" like or "piecey" appearance, as some describe it.
Easy Solution:
Tape or weft extensions provide a more natural fanned out appearance like your own natural hair so this is often better for people who find this problematic.
Beads can cause breakage:
The beads can cause breakage being hard metal.
Easy Solution:
Reputable companies sell and use copper cylinders lined with silicone to protect the clients natural hair from breakage and of which helps to prevent slippage.
KERATIN BOND HAIR EXTENSIONS:
The Pro's And Con's Of Keratin Bond Hair Extensions
The Keratin bond method is one of the very first and original methods of attachments.
It utilises small bundles of hair 0.5-1gram which is pre-secured with a u shaped, or square shaped tip. They essentially will behave in the hair the same way as your own hair once applied with a bonding machine.
Keratin is what a vast majority of your own hair is comprised of so it is perfectly safe for your scalp and natural hair.
The extensions themselves look like a small rounded glued beads in the roots of your hair, with small pieces of extension hair attached to it.
They can be curled, dyed, straightened, styled with heat like you do to your own hair.  In order to attach them, a machine is used which bonds the bond to your own hair at the root (using hot fusion machine) or ultrasonic wave (using a cold fusion machine). Depending on what salon you go and what type of device is used the fused keratin extension is placed in your hair in strategic rows to create the volume and length requested.
The extensions are placed in horizontal rows until they reach the top of your hair to where your own hair will still effectively cover your bonds.

Once you’ve had your keratin bonds installed, do not wash your hair for 48 hours so they can fully harden.

THE PROS:
This method can worn for a sightly longer time than tape or wefts due to the smaller bonds which are less visible when growing out further. (larger bonds become more visible slightly earlier at about 6-8 weeks of grow out).
Keratin hair extensions are most suitable and durable for extended period if necessary and may be able to be placed for up to 8-12 months at a time.
However the longer any type of bond stays in place the more risk for damage.
This applies to all method of hair extensions being the extension is not as well supported when it has grown down.
The supporting hair is strained more and more as the extension grows out and as our hair sheds naturally which is quite a bit each day, in-fact according to the American Academy of Dermatologists, we lose anywhere from 50 to 100 strands of hair per day.
For people with longer hair strands, losing them may be more noticeable.
Note: As our hair naturally sheds we grown new hair in its place. This is the natural cycle of our hair is happens with all hairs on our bodies.
As you can imagine the small section of hair you have attached your extension to will get thinner and thinner the further it grows out so not only is the extension being less supported due to the grow out it is also thinner which can cause breakage.
Due to our natural hair shedding cycles we feel extensions of ALL methods should be replaced within 8 weeks of wear for optimal natural hair health.
Good For Very Thin Hair:
If your own hair is very thin you can have these extensions, with the bonds refined to hide as effectively as possible.  Refined bonds mean they have been cut down so they are smaller which can only be done by a professional who really knows what they are doing. They can be good for blonde hair as the keratin can be very discreet when applied correctly so is one of the best types of hair extensions for .

Relatively Comfortable:
The extensions are bonded to small keratin so they should be comfortable when applied correctly, however there will still be hard pieces of keratin placed all through your hair which some people never quite get used to.
You can swim:
The keratin bonds should stay bonded if they are good quality, however cheaper types of glue bonds or other adhesives are sometimes used by salons or from lower quality suppliers and these bonds may soften and break down when exposed to water over time.
THE CON'S:
Can be uncomfortable:
Initially they can be very tight and uncomfortable this is because the bond is pulled into a section of hair rather than sitting flat like with tape-in method. This should resolve as the hair grows a little.
Easy Solution:
Ensure they are applied close to the root of your own hair, however leaving some space to allow natural movement of your hair.
If you are sensitive stick with tape-ins (no pun intended) as they are applied in the natural direction of your hair fall resulting in no discomfort when applied correctly.
The Removal Can Be Expensive:
You can't generally do this by yourself and being the process can be time consuming, it may be more expensive than other methods of removal depending on your salon, so check the price first.
Removal Solution Can Be Damaging:
Keratin bonds are dissolved with a solution and using a tool to safely break down the bond so it can be carefully combed out without damaging your hair.
Some salons use either acetone, alcohol, or oils, to remove your extensions.
Ensure your salon is a professional establishment which has your hair and your skins best interest in mind, as some solutions can be highly irritating on your scalp and can even damage your own hair.

Easy Solution:
Ensure a high quality hypo-allergenic remover is used to take out your bonds.
At Pure Tape Hair Extensions, we supply a special hypo-allergenic remover which is so safe and super effective in the removal of tape-in's and keratin bonds.
It is anti-bacterial so is especially good to clean and disinfect the hair when removal bonds which have been in place for some time.
It is so gentle you can even use it to cleanse your skin and clear up pimples and we have in-fact never heard of an adverse reaction to our removal solution.
If you however have extremely sensitive skin or many allergies you can test a small amount on the underside of your wrist for a couple of hours to check for any reaction.
The Bonds Can Turn Into Dreadlocks:
The longer the bonds are in your own hair the more of your own natural shedding will occur meaning the bond and the section reaching your scalp will naturally become dread-locked if left for too long.
This happens even more with very fine hair.
Easy Solution:
For this reason the extensions should be removed regularly and this is why we recommend the extensions are left in for 2 months on average and up to 3 months only.
With proper application and timely removal, you shouldn't end up with dreadlocked bonds. Remember to remove your bonds earlier rather than later even if it is tempting because you can't see them growing out as easily.
The more careful and experienced the stylist means the least possible chance of damage.
They Are Expensive:

The appointment time depends on how many strands of extensions you need to complete your look. Typically a full set for length is about 100-150 pieces which can take around 4-5 hours with the cut and style completed.

Easy Solution:

If you like the look and fee of bonds then consider micro-bead which is essentially the same concept being a piece of extension hair which has been bonded to a small cylinder shaped piece of keratin (almost looking like a shoe-lace).  This is then attached using a bead so it is not only quicker but it can be re-used.  Please note: this method is still regarded as being one of the more time consuming so check the price first.

Cannot Be Re-Used:

This method is generally not re-useable which can be expensive meaning brand new hair is typically required.
Easy Solution:
Try micro-beaded extensions instead as explained earlier they behave and look very much the same as a keratin bond.  Ensuring the bead is the same shade as the root of the clients hair will mean it is virtually undetectable when applied correctly.
Some salons will re-use the bonds by sliding the bond out of the hair.
This sometimes works well and other times the bonds will not come away as easily and the hair will fall away.
Some stylists cut away the extension from the clients hair and then re-tip the bond.  While it can be done effectively, it may still ultimately result in the clipping of some of the clients hair which is wrapped up in the extension so we do not recommend this method of re-use unless your stylist can assure a damage free result.
Can Be Problematic To Style As They Grow Out:

Keratin U-tip bonds are attached to the hair using a hot or ultrasonic bonding machine. This means the bond will be melted into the hair and then once hardened will form a secure hold.  However as your hair grows out, you may find it increasingly difficult to style as the bond cannot be touched with hot tools and hairdryer heat should be kept to a minimum.

Can Look Stringy:

As explained above with Micro-bead method which is also a strand by strand attachment, the extensions can look stringy or separate giving a less natural appearance.  This is because of the nature of the bonded part which pulls the hair into a piece rather than allowing it to lie flat which creates a more natural "fall".

Easy Solution:

Keep your hair brushed often throughout the day to integrate the extensions after they naturally settle.  If this becomes to tiresome opt for tape-in or Wefted method.

Accept this effect is part and parcel of the nature of the attachment method and does not look "bad" so to speak, it simply is not quite as natural looking as ones own hair and remember most people wont notice only people with experience with hair extensions or stylists may notice the separation.

FLIP IN - HALO'S

Pros and Cons Of Flip-in halo's

Known as Flip-in's,  halo's, wire or one piece extensions.

The most simply and easily applied hair extension which is attached to your head with a single piece flexible translucent wire (more like a fishing line).

The wire is adjusted to your head size and takes under a minute to fit in. Despite being one of the most easy to install these types of hair extensions, it is not well known among the hair extension users as it is still quite new.
As in case of all other types of hair extensions, flip in hair extensions have their own set of pros and cons.

THE PRO'S

They are perfectly harmless for your hair since there are no metallic attachment, glues, bonds or any other mean that can damage your hair when not applied correctly or if your own hair is very damaged to begin with.
Our flip-in- halo's have virtually no chance of slipping from your head. The wire which sits securely under your hair section coupled with your own natural hair holds the extension in place and sometimes a clip can be placed one each side and in the back to further secure the piece.
The attaching wire is clear and thin so it camouflages into your hair and is therefore  completely invisible and they are extremely comfortable.
CON'S

Cannot Swim While In Place:

Like clip-in method they are unsuitable for swimming as they can lift and come off unless you were to gently up-style them into a bun and keep your head out of the water.

Not Suitable For Most Up-styles:

You cannot easily put them in an up-style as to remove them they are lifted up, so in doing so you will effectively be creating the movement of removal.

Easy Solution:

However with the clip's in place you may be able to create a carefully and gently styled loose bun.

Not Suitable For Short Or Thick Hair"

This method is normally available in standard 100 gram sets and is one piece and therefore not the best for thicker or shorter hair.  The one sectioned piece does not have the thickness or layers required to effectively integrate into thicker or shorter hair which may typically require more extensions.

Easy Solution:

At Pure Tape Hair Extensions, we are experts in creating custom styles and have effectively created extra thick and layered Flip-in Halo's to perfectly blend into a multitude of different colours, lengths, textures and volumes of hair.

May not effectively lengthen the sides of your hair:

If your hair is relatively long you will find the flip-in halo blends very easily, however if your hair is short on either side you might find the halo does not effectively blend.

Easy Solution:

A couple of single extension pieces might work nicely to blend out the sides of your hair effectively.

PONYTAIL HAIR EXTENSIONS:

Pros And Cons Of Ponytail Hair Extensions

Ponytails are becoming more and more popular in the quest for an easy yet stunning result.

You can create a multitude of styles by braiding sections of your hair into your pony or making buns out of your ponytail piece.  A little creativity can go a long way.

Do it yourself:

A do-it-yourself method which is so hassle-free to apply.  And since they are simple to put in and feel comfortable you do not require a stylist's or any other assistance create an amazing day-time or evening look.

CON"S

Can Feel Heavy:

The ponytail piece of hair can get heavy over time so wearing it for many hours a day might start to feel a little uncomfortable.

Easy Solution:

Try wearing your piece for more extended periods of time to get accustomed to your ponytail.  Once you become used to the extra weight and if you have strong hair and healthy scalp you can easily wear it daily.

Can Look Fake:

If your own hair is too thick, or if you have layers the ponytail might look unnatural and not blend into the extension.

Easy Solution:

At Pure we specialise in custom creations so we can evaluate your hair and ensure a ponytail is created to suit your hair properly.

NANO BEAD HAIR EXTENSIONS
Nano Bead Hair Extensions Pros and Cons.
Nano Rings are that they are very small in size. They are around 90% smaller than standard Micro Rings.
They generally come in a range of colours that can be matched to the colour of your roots, making them less visible. When considering getting Nano Ring / Bead Hair Extensions which is a relatively new system of attachment ensure your hair is not too soft or oily they may slip very quickly.
With the correct aftercare products and maintenance they could last for a few weeks.
PRO"S

They do not require heat or glue to secure them.   When it’s time to remove them, they are really easy to do so, and won’t require a removal solution remover, unlike tape in or keratin bond.

Due to the size of the nano rings, the rings are smaller than normal micro beads so are better for very fine hair.

CON'S

So, as you may have noticed we at Pure Tape Hair Extensions don't supply this method of attachment and without putting down any application types we do like to give you all the most accurate information so you can choose the safest, most secure and best method extension types for you.

The reason we are not fans of nano beads method is due to the simple principles of hair extensions application, longevity, maintenance and effect on the hair.

Firstly the nano bead is small (very, very, small) and due to the natural hair shedding one experiences daily being around 50-100 hairs a day the mechanics of the method do not completely make sense in that we shed all those hairs and due to the very small bead which has to support 1 gram of hair the natural hair shedding combined with the weight will not allow for a lasting application.

there may be times when some do slip and are even lost between hair maintenance appointments, which is perfectly normal and to be expected. Some are more predisposed to this happening than others. As we have previously mentioned, if the hair the extensions are fitted to are excessively oily, or soft then this is likely to happen and more often too. So don’t be disappointed if after a fitting appointment you find some have come loose.

PRO'S

Looks Amazing In Less Than Clean Hair:

Didn't have time to wash your hair?  You can slick your hair back with a little styling gel or Moroccan oil to create a sleek polished look in a few minutes that completely hides your own oily or "dirty" hair.
